FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Square One is a café in Sandyford which recently celebrated their first ‘birthday’. We were asked to improve the café’s branding by redesigning its visual communication.
After meeting the owners and getting the feel of the place, we came up with the concept FOOD FOR THOUGHT; to attract a smart, switched-on crowd to the café, we wanted to get people thinking by sprinkling thought-provoking and witty quotes around the walls. On the menus, we have friendly intro texts that are relevant to the individual menu (breakfast / brunch / lunch / dinner) while on the walls and elsewhere they can be more general.
We suggested an area of a wall where customers could add their own thoughts and words of wisdom – either written with a chalk or on A6 cards which currently are being distributed in Sandyford area.
The menus, window graphics and posters on stands feature bold, typographic designs, framed with a line pattern for a stronger effect.
At the moment Square One is gradually introducing the new branding – if you’re around, please pop over for a delicious meal with your friends, colleagues or family and you won’t be disappointed, especially if you enjoy jazz pouring softly from the speakers. The cafe is conveniently located 200m from Stillorgan Luas, 200m from Beacon shopping centre and 15m behind Aldi Sandyford.
